Policy on Human Resource Development

The most important management resources for the Dai-ichi Life Group are people, and enhancing the value of each employee across all manner of fields is necessary to achieve the sustainable creation of value across the Group.
We place the concepts of professionalism and teamwork at the highest level of our HR development policy. We strive to cultivate professionals, which we equate to human resources possessing a spirit of autonomy and self-improvement who actively embrace challenges and reform, and who can continually create value. At the same time, we work to foster a sense of teamwork through human resources who include and empathize with a diverse range of individualities while involving and energizing those around them to enable mutual growth. In doing so, we aim to be a Group company in which each employee enhances both individual and organizational productivity, and in which all employees work in a healthy, lively and motivated way.

Further Growth of the Dai-ichi Life Group

Workstyle Reform (Work Smart) Initiatives

As we head into an era of transformation in which the environment will undergo dramatic change on a global scale, we recognize that it is essential to enhance organizational and individual productivity on a different level, and to develop a workplace environment in which all employees can work in a healthy, lively and positive way. Accordingly, the company has positioned "Work Smart" workstyle reforms as an engine of growth.
Towards achieving this, a perspective that looks at how much can be achieved with limited investment resources is crucial. As a first step, we will undertake a fundamental review of the work we perform in general and re-allocate the extra time created as a result towards the creation of added value, thereby multiplying the results and enhancing productivity.

Enhancing Management Skills

The entire organization of Dai-ichi Life is working hard to develop human capital as the Company's management resources.
We have reviewed the role of organizational management from an entirely fresh approach and implemented human resource development measures such as training designed to enhance managers' ability to utilize people by channeling and cultivating their individual qualities.

Fostering the Development of Junior and Mid-level Employees

Looking to develop the next-generation of leaders, we have endeavored to develop and enhance off-the-job training schemes for junior and mid-level employees to enhance their ability to exert influence and creativity beyond their existing job descriptions, cultivate an awareness of workstyle reforms, continually place an importance on a customer-first approach and become strong, independent individuals who possess the initiative of financial professionals.

Efforts for Development of Global Human Resources

Overseas Challenge Club

Overseas Challenge Club

Looking to further expand its overseas business in the future, Dai-ichi Life is also focused on developing human resources able to engage in business in a global environment.
Specifically, in addition to overseas trainee and study abroad programs, we run three-week overseas dispatch training for junior employees who have been with the company between two and five years, and work to cultivate practical abilities that translate to global business situations through field work and workplace experience at local companies. In addition, for managerial staff expected to play a role as Group global human resources in the near future, we operate a Global Management Skills Enhancement Training program to boost foreign language aptitude, enhance overseas management skills and improve cross-cultural communication.

Career Development Program (CDP)

Dai-ichi Life systemizes off-the-job training through its Career Development Program (CDP), under which it offers programs for all employees to promote the transformation of work styles and personal growth. In addition to providing group training for those eligible, we also offer open-recruitment training in accordance with individual needs and skills as well as an e-learning system that can be used at home.
